Honoring the 2024 Great Social Enterprise Pitch Finalists and Looking Ahead

At ASSETS, we believe business can, and should, be a force for good. That belief comes to life every year at the Great Social Enterprise Pitch, where purpose-driven entrepreneurs take the stage for a chance to earn funding while sharing their visions for a more sustainable economy.

In 2024, three remarkable ventures rose to the top, each driven by a clear mission to uplift communities and challenge the status quo.

Kate Farbo of Prism Thrift earned first place for her imaginative take on sustainable fashion. Through hands-on workshops, upcycled clothing, and circular economy practices, Prism Thrift has diverted over 8,500 items from the landfill and redefined what retail can look like when it centers community and creativity. After the Pitch, Kate has expanded her offerings and strengthened her systems, bringing her vision of eco-conscious fashion to life.

Jakyra Simpson, aka Ky the Chemist, took second place with STEAM Sneakerheadz, a venture that fuses sneaker culture with science to make STEAM subjects fun and culturally relevant for underserved youth. Since the Pitch, Ky has grown her sneaker art kits, launched a new website, and formed new partnerships that continue to show young people that science truly belongs to everyone.

Tabitha Benitez and Alexander Colon, co-founders of Ripple Hub, earned third place for their powerful commitment to youth empowerment through media, music, and storytelling. Their flagship initiative, the Ripple Creators Program, fuses technology with creative expression, equipping young people with tools to build both digital skills and artistic confidence. In the year since the Pitch, they’ve launched eight program cycles, expanding access to safe, expressive spaces where young creators are seen, heard, and uplifted.

These finalists didn’t get here overnight. They were part of the ASSETS Idea Incubator, where they spent weeks sharpening their business models, testing their concepts, and preparing to share their stories with the world. What they presented on stage wasn’t just a pitch, it was a call to reimagine what’s possible.

The 2025 Great Social Enterprise Pitch

On September 4th, the Great Social Enterprise Pitch returns to Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse in downtown Lancaster. Five new entrepreneurs will step into the spotlight with innovative ideas designed to create real, lasting impact.
