Cafe 301: Navigating the Pandemic
“I don’t know how I would’ve been able to navigate during this pandemic if it wasn’t for the team at ASSETS.”
Laurie Newman, Owner, Cafe 301
Back in March – like many other restaurants – Cafe 301 had to close their doors and let go of their employees. With a drop in sales and no curbside pick-up already in place, tensions were high and the future was unknown.
As Laurie worked to create a curbside pick-up program, she simultaneously applied for ASSETS’ Emergency Loan and successfully received funding to reopen the restaurant. Today, she’s experiencing the generosity of her community through successful t-shirt fundraisers, pleased customers, and sold out Mother’s Day pre-orders.
Laurie is a long-time ASSETS’ client and we’re grateful to partner with entrepreneurs like her who work tirelessly to provide quality service to their community.
Show some love to Cafe 301 in downtown Columbia and treat yourself to some “soul-full” soul food Thursday through Friday from 11 AM to 6 PM and on Saturday from 11 AM until 5 PM. Place your order by giving them a ring (717-992-4148).
