Malave Daycare

Marisol Malave was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States with her husband and four children – now teenagers. On arriving in the U.S. her husband filed for divorce leaving her as a struggling single parent. Consequently she had to declare bankruptcy. She has since paid down her debts and is operating a daycare providing loving, safe care to other people’s children. She took the Spanish ASSETS course in 2006 and in 2007 she received the Family/Group Child Care Provider Award from United Way of Lancaster County. She obtained her Child Development Association certificate from Harrisburg Area Community College. She is about to become a recipient of the Keystone STAR 3 designation in Lancaster County. She has been honored by Sarah’s Hope Jewelry, an ASSETS supporter, with a named piece of jewelry.
