Mocha Motion Coffee: Turning Culture and Connection Into a Thriving Business

For Jose and Jazzy Garcia, coffee has always meant more than caffeine. It’s a reflection of their Puerto Rican roots and the memories of family gathered over a cup. Combining Jazzy’s decades in food service with Jose’s background in marketing, they launched Mocha Motion Coffee to bring that same sense of warmth and community to people across Lancaster County.
Why They Started
The idea for Mocha Motion began with a shared love for coffee and connection. Jose and Jazzy wanted to create something that reflected their values of quality and service. Alongside their business partner, Melissa Colón, they saw an opportunity to bring great coffee directly to people, whether at workplaces, festivals or neighborhood gatherings.
From their very first event, the team behind Mocha Motion has built a loyal following. Their approach is simple but powerful: make people feel welcome, serve something exceptional and show up for the community that supports them.
ASSETS’ Role
With support from ASSETS, Mocha Motion Coffee received a ROC loan at just 1% interest and a ROC grant, providing the working capital they needed to strengthen their brand. The funding allowed them to wrap their trailer, transforming it from a plain white setup into the recognizable mobile café their customers love today. That investment helped Mocha Motion take a major step forward in visibility and professionalism while keeping their focus on community connection.
Looking Ahead
As Mocha Motion Coffee looks to 2026, the team is already booking events and expanding their reach. Their goal is to continue showing up for Lancaster County, one cup at a time, while deepening relationships with local businesses and community organizations. For Jose, Jazzy and Melissa, success is measured in the moments that happen around the coffee trailer, when smiles are shared and stories exchanged.
