Raising a Glass to Nissley Vineyards
At ASSETS, we believe strong communities are built through shared stories and local businesses that bring people together. That is why we are proud to celebrate our partnership with Nissley Vineyards, a business rooted in Lancaster County with a long-standing commitment to craft, family, and community.
Recently, members of our team had the opportunity to visit the Nissley Vineyard Winery and Estate in Bainbridge. After spending some time there, you start to see how much history and intention has gone into building Nissley. It is a place shaped by generations of care and hard work. We were warmly welcomed by Jonas Nissley, third-generation owner, who shared both the history of the vineyard and a behind-the-scenes look at the winemaking process.
A Lancaster County Legacy
Nissley Vineyards began as an experiment in the mid-1970s, when J. Richard “Dick” Nissley and his son John planted their first grapes in Lancaster County’s limestone-rich soil. At the time, many believed that great wine could only come from places like California or France. But the Nissley family saw potential where others did not.

Through persistence and a willingness to try something new, that small experiment grew into one of Pennsylvania’s pioneering wineries. Over the years, the entire family played a role in shaping the business, from expanding operations to creating experiences that bring people together on the vineyard grounds.
Today, that same spirit continues under Jonas Nissley’s leadership. With deep respect for the past and a clear vision for the future, Nissley Vineyards continues to evolve while staying true to its roots.
Beyond the Vineyard
Walking the grounds, it is easy to see why Nissley has become a destination in Lancaster County. The landscape invites you to slow down and take it in. The events create space for connection. And the wines reflect decades of learning and refinement.
Our visit offered a closer look at the winemaking process, from grape to glass, and a deeper appreciation for the work behind each bottle. It also reminded us of the importance of businesses that invest in both quality and community.
Looking Ahead
We are grateful to welcome Nissley Vineyards as a partner and to celebrate the role they play in our local economy. Their story is one of resilience, family, and a commitment to building something that lasts.
If you have not yet experienced Nissley Vineyards, we encourage you to plan a visit, explore their events, and see the grounds for yourself. You can also follow along on social media or learn more on their website to stay connected with what is happening next.
