RichStitch Embroidery: Stitching a New Story for Lancaster

In partnership with Lancaster County Community Foundation, ASSETS is building opportunities for entrepreneurs in Central PA, brick by brick.

In the heart of Lancaster City, where creativity and commerce meet, RichStitch Embroidery is helping redefine what local apparel can look like. They started by taking orders from their living room and now operate a storefront at 42 W. King St, working with schools, nonprofits and organizations across the region and offering a broader view of Lancaster through their designs.

Co-owners Marcus Richardson and Jasmine Luciano are not just decorating apparel. They are creating pieces people can wear with pride, reflecting a fuller and more accurate story of the city. In addition to custom work, RichStitch also offers its own line of apparel in-store, giving the community something locally designed that represents Lancaster in a new way.

Lancaster County is often associated with its Amish roots. That image does not reflect the full reality of Lancaster City. RichStitch set out to change that in a practical way through the apparel people wear every day. Their designs bring in cultural influences and perspectives that are often missing from traditional Lancaster merchandise. The result feels more current and more connected to the people who live and work in the city.

Why They Started

RichStitch began with a simple idea and a willingness to work for it. Marcus and Jasmine built the business from their home, growing it through consistent quality and strong relationships. As demand increased, they moved into a storefront where they could reach more of the community and take on larger projects.

Their work with local businesses, schools and nonprofits is grounded in more than just the final product. It is built on reliability and a commitment to getting the details right.

ASSETS’ Role

As RichStitch grew, so did the financial pressure that comes with scaling a business. Access to capital became a turning point. Through ASSETS, Marcus and Jasmine secured funding that helped stabilize the business, reduce financial strain and create space to focus on growth. With that support, they were able to reinvest in their operations and continue building with more stability.

Looking Ahead

RichStitch continues to grow its presence across Lancaster, working with organizations that need high-quality apparel and a partner they can rely on. Their focus is steady growth, strong partnerships and continuing to reflect the full story of Lancaster through their work.
